The primary purpose of this little website is explain the modal scales commonly found in Irish and other related traditional music, in order to provide a foundation for the selection of suitable guitar accompaniment. To aid this process, I've included a selection of tunes  (jpeg scores) showing  chord accompaniments. The indicated chords are my suggestions, and they shouldn't tread too much on the melody. Use them if you will - abuse them if you like - it's up to you! The secondary purpose of this site is to act as a portal to other websites containing traditional material, e.g. tune and song collections etc. - Mix.
